The Brookline Community Band is looking for musicians that are team players, have a high caliber of ability and spirit, can commit to most rehearsals and performances, and have a passion for music. Our members include music teachers, working/retired professionals, and researchers. Most of them have played in college bands and some of them have music degrees.
Wednesday Nights (September-May)
Florida Ruffin Ridley School in Brookline, MA
An audition is always welcome. It can help to know where a player will fit in the section. But professional players, music teachers, music majors, or active local players, are not required to audition.
If a section happens to be full a player can be put on our waiting list.
Our season is from September to May. You may send us a video with the following contents, or do a live audition.
The contents of the video:
A brief introduction about yourself.
If you play more than one instrument please include them.
Play a piece or two (either entire or a section of a piece) that will best demonstrate your playing ability. Music can be solos, etudes, band/orchestra excerpts.
Two scales of your choice (either one or two octaves).
The whole video should be within 4 minutes.
After you make the video please upload it to YouTube or a cloud drive and share the link with us.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Bring one music stand if you have one. The school has limited music stands which are first come, first served.
